Dramatic sunset and shadows makes it appear skies are almost erupting

While clouds kept the Puget Sound area pretty gloomy Monday, a few breaks in the overcast made for a spectacular sunset up in Lynden.

Randy Small was out as usual to capture the scene and witnessed the perfect cloud set up for this unusual-looking event where the skies almost appear to be erupting!

But no worries. What you’re seeing is the sun setting behind the Olympic Mountains and clouds casting a shadow on the mid-layer cloud deck above!
