Thursday’s weather seemed rather tranquil and uneventful around the Puget Sound region, but something appeared afoot in Snohomish County.
Local photographer Amanda Thornton-DeWitt was outside her North Edmonds home when she spotted what appears to be a weak little funnel cloud.
“It broke apart but I won’t lie, made me nervous at first,” Thornton-DeWitt told me. “I lived through many tornadoes, including the Palm Sunday tornado of ’94 in Alabama. I don’t like those things.”
Dynamics were pretty weak around here but perhaps it was a bit of a harmless cold-core funnel cloud. Whatever it was, it didn’t last long and never did any harm.
As a correction it was 1994 that the Palm Sunday tornados hit. That was my bad. I told Scott the wrong year. 💜
