Lion Squishmallow
MARCH ‘IN LIKE A LION’? MORE LIKE “IN LIKE A SQUISHMALLOW”*
(* Are those still a thing?)
So, got any good books you’ve read lately?
Who’s got jokes?
Any good recipes you’ve found?
My weather-themed Facebook page here doesn’t have a whole lot of weather to talk about as Meteorological Winter limps to its finish line Saturday night, so I figure we need to keep the feed active with…something interesting. (And I don’t want to burn any “Emergency Kittens” videos for this snooze fest.)
For the short term, we’re like the sunshine hamburger stuck between two slices of rainy buns.*
(* I’m adding that to my list of “sentences I’d never thought I’d type in a forecast.”)
The satellite image looks like a jumbled mess of weather, but while they all look interesting, they don’t really have impactful weather up here.

A mild atmospheric river has been streaming into Oregon the past couple days, bringing a little rain at times into southwestern Washington, but it’s been rather sunny around Seattle. (There are some Flood Watches as heavier rain flows along the California/Oregon border.)
Wednesday we’ll flip it around as the next system heads into B.C., sneaking a few showers across that border into the northern half of Western Washington*
(* For the border patrol: Metaphorically speaking!! 😂)
Thus, Seattle and the Puget Sound region may see a few brief and light showers at times through Friday but sun breaks too and plenty of dry time to get in those outside walks.
High pressure reestablishes over the Pacific Northwest on Friday into the weekend… and even into early next week with partly to mostly sunny skies. The clearing skies will allow for some chilly overnight lows Sunday and Monday morning, perhaps dropping down around freezing in the city and upper 20s in the outlying areas, but no big deal.
The long range forecast looks a little bit more active mid to late next week but nothing too exciting — maybe just a few dollops of mountain snow at times.
So in the interim while we wait for weather to rediscover the Northwest, I’ll at least get the Dad jokes started:*
“My kids said we had every board game but one. I had no Clue…”
(*Because anyone who knows me knows NOT to ask for ay good recepies 😂 )
I would clasify these past 3 months as the year without a winter.
