I’m going to do something that meteorologists tell you not to do. It’s not quite on the level of running outdoors when thunder roars or driving straight ahead into a flooded road, but….
I’m going to wishcast.
We harp all the time “don’t believe it when you see weather maps on social media out 9+ days in the future portending some big weather event.” How many scary but ultimately debunked forecasts have you seen on your feeds of a major hurricane hitting (insert just about any major coastal city on the East Coast) this summer?
But this map below is a 3 day rainfall map for the end of the month— specifically Sept. 29 to October 1. It shows nearly 2” of rain in the lowlands; some forecasts have had even more. Look at all that rain the Cascades — and even Eastern Washington. Western Oregon is also solidly very wet.
Sure, this is a 12-15 day forecast. Sure, it’s probably going to change many times between now and then. Sure, it might actually end up sunny and dry.

I. DON’T. CARE.*
( *-Just this once 🙂 )
But after yesterday’s 91 and the general lack of like really good, wetting rains, and all the other days of the last several weeks dealing with smoke — as hazy as it’s been here, it’s been unhealthy many days in Eastern Washington — this rain fan is declaring we need this. Or at minimum, I need this. Or some semblance of it.
So I’m going to wishcast it. It’s probably not as effective as, say, asking an Etsy Witch to push your baseball team to a division title (though I wonder what their going rate is now? 🤔) but going to give it a go. ✨🌧✨
WHO’S WITH ME? 😂
